MythTV QT rendering quite slow

Hi,

Past week I migrated my old MythTV box[1] from Debian sarge to Xubuntu
Edgy. It went almost smoothly without pain, however, the rendering is
much slower than before.

The hardware is the same, and the only differences I recall are:

OLD vs. NOW
Windowmaker <-> XFCE
self compiled kernel <-> stock ubuntu
self compiled/optimized Mythtv <-> stock binary packages
XFree86 4 <-> X.org 7.1

I'm using the X window driver ivtvdev for rendering the output to my
TV,. Before everything was really smooth, but now, creating the screen
is noticeable slower, to the extend that I can actually see, in which
order QT draws windows.

It's still fast enough to be usable, more an annoyance.

Anyone with an idea?
