No honkin' hairy deal. Thanks for taking a bit of constructive
criticism so graciously. :) FWIW, I think the new Gnome dictionary
applet flat out sucks. ;) I installed 'dict' and made hooks to it
everyplace I could because I'm such a hurible spuller I nees sumtin
holding my hand.
If you're happy with Dapper and it does everything you need it to do
there's no reason to mess with it. I ran Windows 98 *long* past the
point in time XP came out, and Fedora Core 3 until I moved to Ubuntu a
couple months ago. Usually on garage sale variety pieced together
hardware that most people would laugh at. In fact my last real Windows
box was a plain vanilla P166 (overclocked to 200) in a full tower case
that said 486DX on the outside. That was about 38 months ago.
Nope. I've never been a big proponent of cutting edge with very few
exceptions, most of them being select pieces of software. This laptop
I'm hammering on right now is only the second brand new machine with a
"modern" OS installed I've owned in my life, the first being an Apple
IIC.
And both of those were gifts. <g>
