AFAIK sun donated the code of sun studio enterprise to netbeans (which is
open source), and all further development is done in netbeans (but I could
be completely wrong here, it's just something I think I've read somewhere).
I'm almost sure that netbeans supports much more technologies then sun
studio (either in the core installation or through plugins).
