Motherboard conked.Suggestions for a new mobo/processor

You can still get Intel D845 motherboards.  No need to replace your current 
config if you don't want to.  

If you are interested in a performance boost, I think you'd be better off just 
getting another D845 motherboard and spending the rest of the money that you 
were planning on spending on RAM.  256MB is not a lot these days.

I have a laptop with 256MB of RAM and I have to work to keep it from getting 
bogged down in swap.  More memory will probably give you more of a boost than 
a new mobo/CPU.
