    Come to think of it, there IS a couple of settings there; it's not
that it isn't _booting_, but instead, it's not starting X.  Now THAT we
can solve.  I have to run to get some kerosene, but I'll have an answer
for you in under an hour. (If someone doesn't beat me to it...)
