Fail to enter rc1.d by putting 1 in bootparam in edgy

So is there any workaround so that we can make it run rc1.d ? Or will you fix this in the future version ? I'd like to make it work for our free software project Clonezilla (http://clonezilla.sf.net).
I remembered you mentioned that upstart will be 100% compatible with sysVinit first. Since sysvinit does have this function, we do hope it also exists in upstart.
