install dir

I have mysql-server 5 installed on my Edgy machine.  I just downloaded
the gui tool kit from mysql, and the installation says to untar the
tarball (which includes mysqladmin, workbench, and a couple of other
pieces-parts) into /opt.  mySQL installs to /usr/share/mysql .
Since I want to keep my outside apps somewhat "Ubuntu-esque", could I
install the gui-toolkit into /usr/share/mysql? - looking at the tarball,
everything in it sources from mysql-gui-tools-5.0/ ...
