Please check out the log files when the problem just happened. Open them
with a text editor (menu Applications/Text Editor) or with "less
<filename>" on the command line. Then look at the last entries at the
end of the files.
The interesting files would be /var/log/kern.log, /var/log/messages,
and /var/log/syslog.

If the problem is your machine (as opposed to the router) we might find
something in the logs
