I agree it's not good, but it's the inference I take, too :-(

It is, of course, hazardous to be modifying rulesets for IPTables over the
net, as you can easily find yourself locked out. But I, too, haven't found
a good interface - web or otherwise. I've been using Guarddog locally for
years, but it's getting to be too monstrous to maintain. Now I'm trying
all the guis again.

cpanel? I have a remote site that uses cpanel and it's _supposed_ to let me
maintain most of the DNS, but it's not properly configured and I usually
have to get the hosting provider to fix my DNS. I don't know whether
that's the provider's fault or whether cpanel really doesn't do the job.
cpanel might have some of the other things you want, too.
