ubuntu for a neophyte?

I think it's sometimes even easier to make someone happy with Ubuntu who 
not know anything about Windows. My sister for example got some Windows 
experience and was at first a bit unhappy with Ubuntu, but now she 
really likes it. Another friend of mine without any Windows experience 
liked it from the first second.

Of course this is not representive, but i think it's really a bit easier 
to get familiar with Linux when you don't know windows, because anybody 
with windows experience asks about root and administrator privileges and 
need some time to understand the lot more easier sudo/gksu. If you will 
use those systems from the first second you will just wonder how an OS 
could not work like this. ;)

Hope you got my point, my english isn't that well to explain it any better.
