*Hello Bhavani,

I just thought that I would let you know and others also, that I now 
have "JAVA" working...After reading some comments from others concerning 
which java to use...

So I installed java-gcj from synaptic, and all is well...

Thanks to everyone who responded and those that had commented on the 
subject JAVA to use java-gcj...
