Display Problem Intel 945gm

I am having a problem with my graphics card. The hardware is detecting a 
tv plugged into the Svideo out jack on my dell e1405. The problem is 
that there is nothing plugged in. I have posted a longer message on the 
Ubuntu forums site http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=642913

that gives some more detail.

If anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated.

Happy to provide more specific info on request, I just don't know where 
to start.
