There are a few possibilities for a problem creeping in.
You can check for them all I think by choosing the item from the live
cd boot menu 'check the CD'
This will not only check the image on the CD but will also verify that
the particular cd drive is fully functional over the whole CD.

If a problem is reported, unfortunately you will have to guess exactly
where the problem originates!
