cannot run a live install DVD of Kubuntu

Dear Alex, and others

I inserted shop bought DVD into drive and rebooted.  I got
8 item in a menu and chose the last one "Check CD for defects".  Pressed 
enter.  NExt was Loading inux Kernel progress bar, then the
Kubuntu with horizontal moving blue bar.

Came to rest rest with:
"BusyBox v 1.1.3 (Debian 1:1.1.3-5ubuntu7) Built in shell (ash)
Wnter 'help' for a list of built in commands.

This by the way looks very similar to the stage I got to when I tried to 
run as a live cd: the first option "Start or install Kubuntu".
