I've found that if you install Gutsy without a network connection using
the alternate CD, the installation will almost immediately tell you that
it couldn't find a DHCP address & 1) give you the option to put in a
fixed IP or 2) configure the network later. Opt for #2 and the install
will proceed as normal.
