    The problem is that (for the widest majority of business users) the
Ubuntu box in the mix also handles the antivirus and antispam....and
because it's business, they're going to use the LTS...which is Dapper,
not Feisty or Gutsy.  It wouldn't be so taboo to update parts of the LTS
version, and this is a good example.

    Now, I *accidentally* screwed up and pointed to Feisty-backports
instead of Dapper-backports and installed it on one server.  I really
need to document what I did...but the key problem is that there *are*
some things on the LTS that need updating, not for security (integrity)
reasons, but because they internally are required to match remote
services.  This is probably the best representative of that.

    Every business-box I have is running dapper; every one of those is
working to scan other machines and itself for Windows viruses.  I can't
imagine this being the minority situation.  And it's embarrasing when
Redhat, on FC4 (until they EOL'ed it) was getting updates for the
package for clamav regularly.
