     So would I.  And it isn't so much the hardware being overpriced but the 
notion that I cannot upgrade in a commodity market.  Of course that is a large 
part of why the hardware is priced as it is.

     I don't mind a slightly larger entry cost.  I do mind being locked into a 
single hardware vendor.  Outside of laptops there's no excuse for proprietary 
hardware these days.
