hp dv9540 laptop second harddrive not detected

I have a new HP DV9540 laptop with 2 x 120 gb harddrives.

I cannot detect the second drive in ubuntu 7.04.

I succeded in detecting it when using systemrescue cd, and then I could format 
it with gparted as ext3.

But in ubuntu I cannot see it.

It is not to be seen in the /dev directory.

And when I run "df -h" it is not to be seen.
