Ubuntu AMD64 version goes for Intel's Xeon Processors , Core 2 Quad
Processors, Core 2 Duo Processors, Pentum D Processors, Itanium 2 Processor,
Pentium Centrino Duo, Pentium 4 with HT(EM64), and the list goes on, and for
the AMD plataform it can be deployed on AMD Opteron, Athlon and
Sempron...ubuntu x86 supports up to 8gb depending on the mainboard memory
support as far as I know, and the ubuntu amd64 supports up to 64gb also
depending on the supported mainboard's memory capabilities.
