Label external hard drive?

Not long after I began this investigation, I noticed I was having
problems with the new disk being "Write only". Not knowing what else to
do, I started over and used QTParted this time instead of GParted.
As is most often the case, KDE was better than GNOME here. QTParted
gives you the option to label the disk when you format it. :)
Problem solved. :)
