Selecting a SMTP Before Sending

There are numerous solutions, but you haven't given us enough information. 
Most mail programs allow you to select from a number of accounts or
identities for sending - so we need to know which mail program.

For an MUA-independent solution, I use masqmail as a local SMTP server (so
my mail client always sends mail to localhost:25, which detects my current
location and forwards it to the appropriate server.  When at work, it's
even smart enough to send internal mail to the LAN's SMTP server, and
external mail to Gmail.
