Ubuntu on PowerPC technical questions

Hi Everyone,

I have installed Ubuntu Feisty on a G4 desktop with an ATI Rage 128 
video card. I have managed to solve all but two of the problems:

1) I can't get suspend to work. Both suspend to disk (hibernate) and 
suspend to memory (sleep) just lock the screen.

2) I cannot seem to get my SCSI scanner to work (epson perfection 1200S).

I would appreciate any help with those two issues,
