Yep this is definitely doable. In fact you could do raid with pretty much
any combination of devices that are r/w.
Check it out http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Software-RAID-HOWTO.html. This guide is
old but still relevant. What I would suggest is dropping the raid tools and
going with mdadm instead as that is much easier to manage your array with.
