ubuntu/kubuntu is sloooooooow!

I'll bet a really intelligent person like yourself has figured out that
most of us here are ubuntu-users, not developers, right? If the
operating system works to help get users to move into a system that is
not trying to own the software world, does it matter if it's not as fast
as others? If experience dictates a need for more of anything, it is
available, and can be easily obtained.

In the meantime, I have to get back to my slow system that got me out of
windows.
