upgrade from 6.10 to 7.10

you may have to upgrade to 7.04 first. Or, you can download the alternate disc and install 7.10 from scratch leaving your /home in tact (assuming you have a separate partition for /home.

Anyway, for questions like this, read the web site. Get familiar with it because this type of question has been asked/answered a million times before.

If you try and find information yourself, you'll be more confident in what you;re trying to achieve, rather than blindly following other peoples' instructions.
