Problems with suspend on a fresh install

I wonder if that's my problem.  I thought I had suspend / hibernate / 
resume all working and all of a sudden a recent resume didn't complete 
.. it thought the battery was disconnected and when I tried mounting 
another partition, it mounted and then dismounted .. so, I rebooted. 
But, I was trying to work with it, but maybe I didn't wait long enough 
(certainly not 10 minutes).

Now, I'm trying gutsy.  It has similar problems.  Sometimes it works, 
others not.  I'll see if I can't wait it out ..
