network connection

Are there other machines on your network? Do they also experience this
problem?

Maybe your cable to the network (I am assuming that you are on a cabled
network) is defective or your network board is faulty.

Do you experience similar things when working locally, i.e. not via the
Internet but ex. downloading something to an internal server?

Do you happen to have dual boot and can compare how windows or another
Linux works on the same machine?
