GDM vs KDM - which is better?

I believe we answered as far as was possible given the question.  If you'd
left it at the question in the subject, I'd have to say I really don't
think it makes the slightest difference whether you use KDM, GDM or XDM.
But then you introduced the whole business of desktop environemtns.  There,
the difference between KDE and Gnome is significant - but to say either one
is "better" is impossible, barring pure personal bias (in which case I have
to say KDE is head and shoulders better than Gnome) without some idea of
what you want to do with it.
