feisty + ie4linux + jre

as far as i know ie4linux is just a simplified package to get ie6 (and
5.5 and 5.02) running under wine in linux.  So i assumed that if jre
installed properly under the wine environment for the ie4linux
package, then the IE will be able to run java applets...

But this doesn't seem to be the case...
