So, I have now had some success installing feisty. At this point,
installing through an apt-cacher has been flaky. Until last night (~2:00
AM MDT), the only way to use the cacher was to turn it off for one
machine, and then import all of the packages into the cacher, at which
point, there was no need to look outside. At about 2:00 AM, the cacher
seemed to start working correctly because I was downloading successfully
at the internet speed through the cacher onto a laptop. I am now back to
difficulties with the cacher and even with the importing trick. It makes
me wonder whether the mirrors are out of sync. I can tell you that the
list of mirrors given by the package web page is WAY out of sync because
most tell me that the URL point to doesn't exist. I'm down to three
packages, two of which are crucial (the xorg-driver-fglrx and the 2.6.20
386 kernel image) thatare still giving me md5sum errors.
Does anyone know how to fix these???
