I don't know that the problem is for you, but I spent 5 minutes each in
Warty, Hoary, Breezy, Dapper, and Edgy, and always had completely
functional restricted codecs (following [1]). I spent 1 minute for
DVD-deCSS (as per System|Help) and realplay in Feisty, everything else
was automatic, and I again have fully functional restricted stuff.

I'd appreciate if you'd keep hanging around to help fix broken upgrades
when Automatix users show up :)
