The first automatix version changed sources.list, and did other insane
things (--force-yes!). I know from the FAQ that the worst offenses have
been fixed, but I have no interest to find out what else is broken since
I have seen how the maintainer of automatix refused to take advice from
the Ubuntu developers.

The FAQ claims that "The chances that Automatix is behind the breaking
of a Ubuntu upgrade is quite low". I do not know what "quite" means, but
there certainly are bug reports in Launchpad where the upgrade by
update-manager fails because of automatix. 

You think it is simple to fix, but the typical Automatix user does not
even know which packages it installed, much less how to remove them. 
And I can only repeat, the most-commonly used functionality of Automatix
is redundant in Feisty and there is absolutely no reason to take the
risk.
