I don't think that mounting .iso in a loop interface on Linux gives you the
same  drive as alcohol gives you on Windows. It's worth the try though. I
guess it all depends what do you need from the .iso files. If you are
talking about some games that you backed up using Alcohol 52% (free) or 120%
(non-free), then they might not have the right "mapping" needed by the
software to run with it (I'm thinking games like Chessmaster 10 here. The
ISOs won't work with anything other than Alcohol 52% for me).

Again, your reason to use this type of emulation might be simpler and "mount
-o loop -t iso9660 foo.iso /mnt" might just do it for you...
