Hmmm... perhaps you should look at: Applications|Add/Remove [someone may 
insert something else here based on your comments] then Search: PDA 
Show: All Open Source applications ? I'm not sure that PDA you are 
sync'ing to, but perhaps if you tell the list someone may be kind enough 
to suggest an alternative so that you don't continue to [fill in the 
blanks]. I personally don't use a PDA, I prefer my CRS syndrome instead 
- it keeps me interesting...

I use a sharp YO-520. it uses a serial interface aswell. I tried looking 
to see if there was any linux software for it as well, but i couldnt 
find any
