I'm surprised I've seen so few people bitten by this - I'm guessing because
the edgy upgrade moved to UUID based mounts (though I'm not sure how grub
would have been fixed).  Fortunately for me, the drive on this laptop has
always been /dev/sda*, so there's no conversion to worry about.
