Help using ubuntu

Hi!

I've two problems with ubuntu 7.04:

1- in livecd i have no display of mouse cursor, although i cna click on the
icons and menus.
2- After i managed to install it, ubuntu boots and i can hear the login
sound but I've no display and when i tried to change the terminal ex:
"ALT+F2", the screen was full of vertical stripes.


What can i do to solve this?


My hardware specs:

Cpu - AMD64 Athlon X2 4200
VGA .- NVIDIA 7900
Ram - 2Gb
Board - Asus a8n32-sli deluxe
