Unable to boot Ubuntu 6.10 from a CD

Hi,

  I had downloaded Ubuntu 6.10 ISO for i386 and burn that image on to a CD. 
  I followed the exact same steps that were mentioned in some help documents in Ubuntu website.

  When I tried booting with that CD, the initial menu appeared, asking me to choose on option. I selected the option to 'Start & install Ubuntu'. It was throwing an error that says "I/O boot error from CD" and asking me to reboot. 
  After reboot also the same problem. 

  Could anyone let me know if I am missing anything here.
