Forcing update-manager to display dist upgrade info ?

In case someone else comes across this issue I simply downgraded the
update-manager package to allow me to update to Feisty again with the
command:
dpkg --force-downgrade -i /var/cache/apt/archives/update-manager_0.45.2_all.deb
