Yes you are quite right!! Needs mount.cifs.... I can't understand why 
there is a kernel module available (not loaded by default) called CIFS, 
but even after you load that you still have to install smbfs. This is so 
cool - I can finally use Rythmbox to make auto playlists on the Samba 
share!!
