Konqueror SVG rendering in Kubuntu

I've noticed that when I have an SVG file on the desktop and click on it,
it opens in Konqueror, but instead of displaying the file, it displays
"image/svg+xml."  If I click on the file from withing Konqueror instead,
it displays just fine.  Does anybody know why this is so?

I've checked my file associations and Konqueror is listed first, but if I
right click on an SVG file (from the Desktop), and choose "open with," it
only lists Inkscape and Firefox.  If I click "other" and choose Konqueror,
it opens the file and displays it just fine.

If anybody can explain how to fix this behavior, I would be grateful.  If
it is a bug that I cannot fix myself, can somebody tell me the propper place
to file a bug report?  By the way, I'm using Edgy.
