Applications|Sounds & Video|Mplayer
right click on the Mplayer screen then select Preferences
Video codec family: FFmpeg...
Audio code family: FFmpeg...
You can also download & install the codecs directly from:
http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/dload.html
Scroll down to Binary Codec Packages then select the appropriate one for
your system/language. Download untar then follow the instructions in the
README file.

That works just fine for me. (cool video btw :-)

I get the same errors + I get sound but no video.

I tend to avoid adding things to my browsers (with the exception of the
Mozilla Preferences Toolbar), so I used:
http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php
The key error that I notice is:
libavformat file format detected.
[flv @ 0x874c3c8]Unsupported video codec (4)
However when I play the Vista vs Linux video I get:
libavformat file format detected.
VIDEO: [FLV1] 320x240 0bpp 25.000 fps 0.0 kbps ( 0.0 kbyte/s)

I'll try from my feisty system later... currently trying to figure out
an OpenOffice/Java/Nautilus problem
(http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6510610) so it may
be awhile before I can try.
The good news: you *can* play an flv on Mplayer
The bad news: you can't play UK comedy (then again, maybe that's not
such bad news after all... :-)
