Problems playing Flash Video .flv files on Edgy Eft

I think that's enabled here:

deb http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu edgy-backports main restricted 
universe multiverse

$ apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree 
downloads it and installs it ok.

**BUT**, flash was already installed and working (eg. in Swiftfox).

mplayer and others still say the same thing:
