intel 82801g on toshiba p105-s6197 - no sound

hey everyone, im trying to get my siound working on my freshly installed
instance of edgy on my laptop. ive tried everything i know to fix it(which
isnt much) and ive searched the forums to try to find an answer.  i
get no sound at all when i try to play any kind of audio.

82801g high definition audio.
