Strange udev camera problem and solution?

Hi guys,
I have the same problem for a month now.
I knew it's a simple solution like commenting a line out... I just didn't
know which.
Matthew's logic astounds me - how didn't I think of that ?! Kudos to Matthew
!
I am at work now, connected to my Ubuntu Edgy box through an SSH tunnel.
I copied all 3 possible solutions and commented the out.
My question:
Should I do something after the change? I mean: should I log out or restart
a service? Restart the whole system?
I have a USB Canon IXUS 50 (or so it detects my Canon A70).
Thanks!
Amichai
