Die, SCIM, die!

Ubuntu Users,

Whenever I do some kind of upgrade, or install Ubuntu-desktop, I get 
SCIM installed.

I don't like SCIM, and don't want it. I already have UIM/Anthy installed 
and working just the way I like.

I would just ignore it, but it has this annoying floating toolbar it 
tries to put on my desktop, and tries to take over from UIM/Anthy.

Is there a way I can block it from installing? Any setting I can put in 
so that it will never darken my desktop again?
