Ubuntu server install and Thinkpad 770E pcmcia problem

Hello everyone,

I have an IBM Thinkpad 770E, (PII-266, 128mb RAM) and I have Ubuntu
Server 6.06 installed. I have gotten everything to work so far except my
AT&T 6700G wireless card. It has the Atheros chipset and I have the
restricted drivers installed.
I plug it in and it get's power. The output of dmesg and checking
/var/log/messages shows that the system acknowledged that there was a card
inserted in either slot 0 or 1, but it doesn't recognize what the card is.
I modprobe ath_pci and make sure that the modules are loaded, but with no
results. It just doesn't show up in the system. I know that the card
works, as I have used it with other computers.
I know that the slots are functioning because I use the wired ethernet
card in it for the system install/updates.

Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong or what I need to be
doing to get this card recognized? Is there something with this card that
makes it not work with older pcmcia controllers? If that's the case, can
someone recommend any wireless cards that are fully compatible with this
machine and Kismet?

Thanks!
