I don't understand, sorry...
$ sudo apt-get source mail-notification
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Need to get 888kB of source archives.
Get:1 http://au.archive.ubuntu.com dapper/universe mail-notification
2.0.dfsg.1-2ubuntu2 (dsc) [818B] Get:2 http://au.archive.ubuntu.com
dapper/universe mail-notification 2.0.dfsg.1-2ubuntu2 (tar) [879kB] Get:3
http://au.archive.ubuntu.com dapper/universe mail-notification
2.0.dfsg.1-2ubuntu2 (diff) [8507B] Fetched 888kB in 1s (644kB/s)
[snip]
I just use the au.archive.ubuntu.com repositories....
If you want a more recent source tarball I guess you download it ? The
apt-get build-dep step is still useful in either case. Of course, apt-get
build-dep installs binaries of the dependencies ( -dev packages) , not
source code - did you want source for all the deps too?
