sudo sed -i s/dapper/edgy/ /etc/apt/sources.list && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Or, if you didn't understand that, in Synaptic go Settings ->
Repositories, and go through all of the repos listed. For each of
them, click 'edit', then 'custom', and change 'dapper' to 'edgy'. Then
update as normal.
