Ubuntu Server 6.06.1 does not boot on VIA EPIA ME6000

Reto, I can confirm the problem, on the same exact hardware, VIA EPIA
ME6000. I tried to install the Ubuntu 6.06 server edition tonight and
got stuck in that infinite reboot loop. 



Several months ago, I 'had limited success getting the standard desktop
version installed and running'
(http://justinsomnia.org/2006/06/ubuntu-up-and-running/), but the GUI
performance was sluggish and the system would sometimes freeze after
running the software update process.



If you are anyone has discovered any clues or workaround, I'd be happy
to hear them. Thanks.
