Interesting, I have package database corruption and am completely stuck
because app-install-data is broken and will neither upgrade, downgrade,
remove or reinstall. Worse, if I try bash says "input/output error" and
the machine hangs. I didn't file that because I'm not sure it is a
genuine problem, but in any case this is the first apt corruption I have
had since running Debian potato and Debian-based distros ever since,
often unstable both with Debian and Ubuntu.
